Baby food products sold in Tesco, Asda, Boots and Morrisons recalled over ‘choking hazard’

Two well-known baby food brands are recalling two of their products because of “choking hazard”.

Some packs of Cow & Gate and Aptamil Muesli by Nutricia have been found to contain pieces of apple stalk.

The products are sold in supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and even Boots.

A statement from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) states: “The presence of apple stalks poses a choking hazard for babies who make these products unsafe.

“If you bought the products, do not feed them to your baby.

“Instead, return them to the store they were purchased from, with or without a receipt, for a full refund.”

Point of sale notifications listing the threat will appear in all retail stores that sell the product.

The notices explain why the products are being recalled and what to do if you have brought them back.
