Ye Olde White Harte employees announced on Facebook that the dog Benji had died on Thursday. They posted a sad photo of the aching dog and a statement saying, “We are sorry to tell you that today we had to say goodbye to a loved one of our family, Benji.

“He was loved by everyone and will be missed very much. We hope that wherever you’ve passed you have some chips to open and nibble on. RIP Benji. “

According to HullLive, Benji was a big part of the Ye Olde White Harte family. Customers loved being greeted by him when they went out for a drink and he became a permanent fixture in the house.

One employee responded to the post with the words: “RIP Benji. I will miss our rework. “
